The African penguin is the continent's only flightless seabird. A colony near Boulders, in Cape Town, is one of the areas main tourist attractions. Highly endangered, the penguins are very susceptible to oil spills. A penguin is about 50cm tall and weighs between 2.1 and 3.7 kg.
