3.4 SELF-STUDY AND REVIEW QUESTIONS

The purpose of the self study questions is to provide individuals using the River Awareness Kit with an opportunity to carry out a self evaluation about what they have learned and what still needs to be learned about river structures and physical processes. These questions provide an opportunity to review and think about the important facts and concepts that have been presented in this section.

You can return to the material in the main text to review information on each topic, you can get some ideas about the answer by discussing the issues they raise with some of your colleagues, or you can utilize the RAK web site and especially the Bulletin Board to get help from one of the content experts that participated in the development of the RAK.

Interactive Questions Self-Study Questions
Computer Corrected Questions. These short answer questions make it possible to evaluate your understanding of specific information presented in the section on River Structures and Physical Processes. The questions are designed to give you quick feedback, since the CD-ROM will indicate if you selected the correct answer. Extending Your Knowledge. These questions are more general than the Interactive computer corrected questions. In fact, many of the questions do not have one correct answer. They have been developed as a way to evaluate your broader understanding and application of the RAK content about conservation and biodiversity.
