FOSTERING DIALOGUE WITH STAKEHOLDERS
The MRC began a process of dialogue and consultation on climate change with government agencies; research organisations and universities in Member Countries; NGOs; regional organizations; and development partners in July 2008.
The Regional Forum on the MRC Climate Change Adaption initiativeI (February 2009, Bangkok) is one of several activities aiming to foster dialogue and consultation with stakeholders about climate change and adaptation activities in the Lower Mekong Basin.
The forum recognized the urgent need to support the Mekong River countris in their responses to foreseen impacts of climate change in the Mekong River Basin.
