Abstract: Forest and Land Cover Type, 1993 and 1997 (overlaid) Forest types have been mapped with a high degree of detail. Several major forest types have been differentiated. Every major forest type has been sub-divided into density classes, where appropriate. Other (non-forest) land cover types have been mapped with a lesser degree of detail, e.g. there is only 1 class of permanent agriculture, which contains rice fields as well as agricultural plantations.

visual interpretation of 1993 satellite imagery were inserted
(effecting 0.6 % of the entire coverage area)

data originally referenced to UTM Zone 47 and Gauss Zones 17 + 18
were re-projected to UTM Zone 48

data set has been clipped with the OLD (1:250,000 scale)
Lower Mekong Basin (LMB) boundary (except for Cambodian and Lao
non-LMB parts)

neighbouring polygons with identical attributes have NOT been
dissolved in order to keep polygon sizes reasonably small
