UNEP invites nominations from individuals who have made a significant contribution globally, regionally and beyond, to the protection and sustainable management of the environment and natural resources. Deadline for receipt of nominations for 2010 is on 1 December 2009. Candidates are judged by a senior UNEP panel.
Persons may nominate themselves or their own organisation, or they may choose to nominate a third party whom they believe should receive recognition. All nominations must be supported by three referees. Referees need not be from the candidate's home region.
Press clippings, testimonials and photographs may be sent to support the nomination. Please do not send books, videos etc. Short-listed applicants will be contacted for further supporting information.
