THIRD REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON
BIODIVERSITY
The Caspian Regional Thematic Center (CRTC) for
Biodiversity of the regional Caspian Environment Programme (CEP) will hold third
regional workshop on assessment of transboudary priorities of the Caspian
biodiversity in Atyrau, Kazakhstan on 12th, 13th and
14th of September.
The workshop will discuss on the following
issues:
- Regional report on Caspian Biodiversity (discussion and approval)
- Presentations of National Caspian Action Plans on Conservation of Caspian
Sea Habitats
- Impact of invasive species on Caspian biodiversity, in particular Mnemiopsis
- CEP biodiversity database
- Caspian Strategic Biodiversity Action Plan
- Permanent Biodiversity Centre for Atyrau
All the littoral countries participate in the
Workshop on the level of experts. Representatives from the CEP’s CRTC for
Desertification and CRTC for Fisheries and Bioresources, as well as private
sector in the face of bp Azerbaijan, Agip KCO, Chevron and Shell and local NGOs
participate in the Workshop.
