CCRES proudly names partners for Indonesia

The CCRES project is proud to announce partners from the government, scientific and university sectors in Indonesia.

The partners and collaborators, comprising national, provincial and local institutions, are:

“The success of CCRES depends in no small part on the relationships we have with our partners in the Philippines and Indonesia,” says CCRES Senior Advisor Melanie King, from The University of Queensland.

“Partners and collaborators are the cornerstones of our in-country activity.”

CCRES is developing knowledge products, business tools and planning models to assist coastal managers, planners, regulators and policymakers to prepare resource management plans in the East Asia-Pacific region.

The technical collaboration with in-country partners at pilot sites at Selayar, Indonesia, and El Nido, the Philippines, encompasses the valuation of ecosystem services, development of business processes and tools, and promoting behavioural change among decision-makers in coastal communities.

The CCRES outputs are being designed to assist decision-makers to capture the value of the services provided by coastal ecosystems and unlock new, sustainable income streams for the communities which rely upon them.

“The tools and models under development will not have much impact unless we involve people in the planning of research, the design of technical products and the delivery of our outputs,” Ms King says.

“Our next challenge is to decide how we share these tools, products and models with a wider audience. We’re now planning how we scale-up the project regionally and globally, beyond our pilot sites.”
