Practice Wetlands restoration

Project DRP Small Grants: 1.4 (Wetlands pilots – undertaken by WWF-DCP)

Beneficiary country: Danube Countries

Region: Danube-Black Sea

Details

Description: 6 pilot demonstration sites operated to illustrate alternative approaches to land management and means to enhance wetlands nutrient retention capacities

Lessons learned: Problems with regards to land ownership should not be underestimated. Lack of water quality data and difficulties in designing monitoring programmes renders precise data for estimation rare

Comments: Across Danube Basin

Implementation start date: 2001-01-01

Implementation end date: 2007-12-31
