Details

Description: Two small-scale pilot biogas digesters have been been completed to convert animal waste to energy. Nutrients will still have to be transported off site. Ultimately, 292 biogas digesters were built, and several local manufacturers have begun producing locally manufactured models. The design developed under the project has been adopted as the most suitable design and some 100 additional units have been built since project closing with support from other donors and some local government funding.
