Mark is the Team Leader, Communications, Engagement & Outreach, for the Capturing Coral Reef & Related Ecosystem Services (CCRES) project.

Mark is principal of Currie Communications based in Melbourne, Australia, a public relations firm which assists private and public sector organizations to engage influential corporate, government, media and community stakeholders. Currie is a partner in CCRES.

Mark provides strategic counsel about strategic positioning, corporate reputation, communications strategy, stakeholder engagement and issues management to senior executives at Horticulture Australia, Australia Post, the Bureau of Meteorology, Dairy Australia and the Global Change Institute at The University of Queensland.

He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Global Public Relations Network www.prgn.com), Associate Director, Communications at the Global Change Institute (www.gci.uq.edu.au) at The University of Queensland and was communications coordinator of the former Coral Reef Targeted Research and Capacity Building for Management Program (CRTR).

Mark thrives on ‘the big picture’ (people, planet and profit). An inspiring facilitator and former journalist, he helps organisations find their voice and see their future more clearly.

The son of Corgi dog breeders, a father of three, an average golfer, gardener and tennis player, and occasional scuba diver, Mark would like to change the world for the better. 

Mark’s contribution to public relations has been recognised with the title of Fellow by the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
