The Baltic Sea Fund invites nominations for the 2005 Baltic Sea Prize
The “Åland Foundation for the Future of the Baltic Sea”, usually called the Baltic Sea Fund, has since 1990 annually been presenting awards to recognise significant and prominent contributions for the benefit of the environment of the Baltic Sea. Up till now over 50 prize winners, representing all of the Baltic Sea countries, have been awarded for their achievements. And the total sum of awards adds up to about 470 000 €.
The Baltic Sea Fund invites companies, organisations as well as private individuals from the Baltic Sea region to submit nominations for the 2006 Baltic Sea Prize. We are looking for candidates engaged in finding practical and/or technical solutions to the environmental problems of our common inland sea, dedicated people to be found not only among scientists, environmental activists and artists but also administrators and decision-makers, not least in the business world.
The candidates must represent one of the Baltic Sea countries.
To nominate a candidate for the award, write a letter, send an e-mail or send a fax. Additional details (no more than 10 pages) that will illustrate the achievement and assist the jury’s decision-making process can be submitted but are not obligatory. In a similar way references may be mentioned. Information about nominations is kept confidential.
All nomination documents must be submitted/postmarked at the latest by November 25, 2005.
