The Nordic environment label, the Swan Label, enjoys greatest popularity in Sweden, according to a new survey. In general, the Swedes also think more about the environment when shopping.
The survey asked whether consumers think about the environment when shopping and whether they were aware of the Swan label.
In Sweden, 90% recognised the Swan, in Norway 75%. The corresponding figures were lower in the other Nordic countries and lowest in Iceland at only 50%.
The Swedes also the most likely to check whether a product is environmentally friendly: 84% responding that they check up on the environmental characteristics of products. In Finland, the figure was 82%, in Norway and Denmark 68%.
