Project Service Area:

Central city, various built-up towns and planned areas, main industrial parks in each town, city level economic development zones;

Waste water treatment plans: First phase plan to 2010, overall plan to 2020;

Capacity: First Phase capacity: East plant 2010 capacity 50 000 m3 /d, the North plant 2010 capacity 100 000 m3 /d; associated collection mains and link sewers -2020 capacity: East plant 100 000 m3 /d, the North plant 320 000 m3 /d.

Objective of wastewater management ：

     (1) The waster water collection and treatment rate in 2010 in central city would be 70%; In villages and in towns, 60%;
    (2) Effluent would be discharged into internal rivers to realize the reuse of the water resource and make treated effluent meet national standards, Class A1.
The constructed wetlands associated with the North Wastewater Treatment Plant of Cixi City Wastewater Treatment Project Phase 1 will provide tertiary treatment for the effluent from the secondary WWTP to solve eutrophication and other water quality problems. The constructed wetlands have a number of advantages such as, less input, energy saving, high efficiency and apply to effluent of different qualities and concentrations.
