An agreement will be signed today Saturday March 21st 2009 between the Regional Organization for the Conservation of Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization for implementation of a project on enforcing strategies for reduction of un-intentional production of persistent organic pollutants in the region. These are products released from some industries and waste incineration activities. The project aims at developing strategies enhancing the use of best available technology and best environmental practice in accordance with Stockholm Convention that has been signed by all PERSGA member states.
