 Project «Implementation of Ecologic reforms in the republic and their consequences» - 4.200 $USD - 2000; - two books have been published, «Ecologic studies and health» – 150 copies and the rest of the funds constituting 150$ USA were used for organization of the scientific-practical conference in the Institute of Philosophy and Ecologic rights attached to the Academy of Sciences and 150 copies of Collection of Articles “Ecologic methodology and Philosophy of right”;  Creation of Ecologic website– www.tzecongo.org, - 2700 $USD (700 USD – Embassy of Norway, 1000 USD – Norwegian Oil Company STATOIL and 1000 USD – Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain), 2003;  Project «Cleaning and rehabilitation of the oil-contaminated lands of Absheron». Environmental Research Center of the Khazar University (ERCKU) is dedicated to research, education and public outreach on the environment, including river basins, Caspian Sea, lakes and their basins, mountain ecosystems of Azerbaijan and bordering territories. It aims to contribute to the national and international efforts to protect the environment through applied research and studies, services and consultations.

1. In 2008-2009 the project (funded by Department of State, USA) entitled “Caspian Sea Environmental Studies Curricula Development” was successfully carried out by Environmental Research Centre, Khazar University. In December, 2008 an international symposium attended by 25 teachers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan was organized at the Khazar University. As a result of the project various curricula samples were developed. There are a variety of ideas and approaches to teach school children in these curricula samples are given. All of developed curricula models were printed in the form of compact brochure (attached) in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. These brochures were sent to 150 schools and libraries of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. 2. In 2008 the project “ Evaluation of changes in flood genesis at mouth part of the Kura river, Azerbaijan” was carried out. The main purpose of this study was to analyze factors contributing to floods at the mouth reach of the Kura River and evaluate the long-term changes in these factors. Over the last 50 years intense water withdrawals and flow regulation at the Kura basin has lessened contribution of intense rains and intense snowmelts to flood formation process. At the same time channel siltation has increased role of non climatic factors, as a result, changes in channel capacity cause floods with longer duration. In addition, the Capian Sea level rise became additional contribution to the level rise in mouth area that causes backwater propagation on the free surface. Results of this project has been published in peer reviewed international journal “Natural Hazards”.
