Format of the sub-modules
The Introduction section introduces the students to the content that to be covered in the sub-module or module and also referring to what has been covered in the previous module or sub-module. The section will also be used to emphasize important concepts to be covered in the unit, or to provide linkages between related sections in previous and forthcoming units.

The Objectives indicates exactly what will be covered; from where the in-text-activities are derived; and the expected accomplishments to be met by the learners. Objectives are measurable and assess the thinking and problem solving skills of the learners. All levels of Bloom’s taxonomy are used to create or phrase at least three or five objectives per module or sub-module.

Prescribed and/or Recommended readings are given from which learners will study the particular module or sub-module. Prescribed books are not more than two as learners are normally expected to purchase prescribed material inexpensively. Recommended books are not compulsory and learners are expected to complete the module without consulting those literature.

The content of the module is divided into sections and subsections and with at least one activity per section or sub-section. Activities are linked to the objectives and are used to engage the students throughout the module or sub-module and prompt learners to deliberate on a forthcoming concept.

Core content is provided in digestible units and broken into these convenient units by activities, illustrations, case studies, questionnaires, cross-references, magazines articles and relevant examples.

Summary of the unit is given at the end of each module or sub-module to give a synopsis of the main ideas that have been covered and also providing links between previous and forthcoming modules or sub-modules.

References used during the compilation of the modules or sub-modules are provided at the end of the units using the Harvard method of referencing.
