UNEP's Work

In addition to the work already mentioned under the sections Science and Policy, which aims to strengthen the knowledge base as well as government capacity, UNEP’s work focuses on consolidating and extending partnerships with business and industry and on influencing consumer choice.
UNEP works closely with partners from business and industry to advance our mission and activities in the field of technology, industry and economics. Our activities in this field include stakeholder dialogue, sharing emerging best practices, developing and promoting materials to build the capacities of managers and employees, inspiring partnership innovation and improving understanding of key corporate responsibility issues on the global sustainable development agenda. Education & Capacity Building  UNEP's initiatives in the area of Education for Sustainable Consumption and Production (ESCP) respond to the need for new cultural and educational models which foster a new generation of citizens who integrate sustainability in their personal and professional decisions.
