Anti-Corruption

In 1996, the OAS member countries adopted the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption (IACAC), the first Anti-Corruption treaty in the world. Now a process is underway to measure how countries that have ratified the treaty are complying with its key provisions. The goal is to strengthen cooperation against corruption in the hemisphere.

The REMJA is the Meeting of Ministers of Justice or of Ministers or Attorneys General of the Americas, which has met periodically under the auspices of the OAS since 1997. Its purpose is to promote legal and judicial cooperation among the States of the western hemisphere.
