Nonspatial Tabular Data
8. Non-spatial Tabular Data
:
TANGIS can use non spatially referenced data (i.e., without x and y co-ordinates) if there is some reference to a geographical feature (e.g., a district, river, or catchment). TANGIS can join your data to these features.
The same rules for non-spatial tabular data apply as for other tabular data.
Additionally, tell the data manager which dataset it will be attached to, and which field in your dataset provides the reference to the features.
Example : you can link population data by district to the district map and create by the way a population map.
Currently, the following 'framework' datasets are available to 'hang' non-spatial data from:
Country
Districts
Rivers (main river names)
Subcatchments
Provinces
Villages + larger settlements
