Geology and Landforms

Satellite imagery of the Earth’s surface offer a synoptic, yet detailed view of different landforms, their geological and structural composition, and their evolutionary patterns. They help geologists to explore remote and often inaccessible areas, such as the mountainous regions of the Mekong Basin. For example, side-looking radar imagery provides an excellent rendition of topographic features, making it very useful for geology and terrain analysis.
