Science and Technology

Science and technology are the primary driving forces of today’s global economy, and these areas become ever more important each day. The OAS is committed to helping improve the scientific and technological knowledge of the peoples of the Americas. In response to the challenge of increasing the region’s scientific and technological capacity the Organization, through its Inter-American Council for Integral Development and its Inter-American Committee on Science and Technology (COMCYT), contributes to the formulation and implementation of OAS policies for scientific, technological and innovative development within the framework of the partnership for development.
