What is the relationship between the OAS and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)? |

The Inter American Development Bank (IDB) was founded pursuant to an OAS resolution, in 1959. The IDB is not an OAS organ because its members include non-American states. The IDB works jointly with the OAS in many areas pursuant to cooperation agreements and mandates established by the Summit of the Americas process. |
