The mission of the UNDP/GEF Yellow Sea Project is to protect the marine life, coasts and sea of the Yellow Sea by promoting its conservation and sustainable use development. We would like to invite you to participate in our Digital photo competition to celebrate the World Ocean Day with our message “You can make a difference to the Yellow Sea”.   • By entering your photo, you explicitly agree to the terms and conditions for the competition.
  • You retain the copyrights over your work. Photos will be credited all the time with the photographer’s name.
  • GEF/UNDP Yellow Sea Project is granted to publish all winning photos in a publication book and if possible, an exhibition.
Competition rules:
  1. The competition is open to all residents of China and Korea, amateur photographers
  2. Each person is invited to submit only one photo in digital form. Images can be entered by the photographer by sending us an email to yellowseaphotos@live.com. Please visit the following website http://partnership.iwlearn.org/ for receive more information about the World Ocean Day celebrations in the Yellow Sea.
  3. The photo submitted should be an image on jpg format, 1-5 MB size, with an explanation on where and when the photo was taken. No enhancements or retouching.
  4. The photo should be the person’s own work
  5. Participation is free
  6. The theme for this year World Ocean Day is “You can make a difference for the Yellow Sea”. However, any aspects of the Yellow Sea coast, ocean, coastal people or wildlife are eligible. Underwater photos are also acceptable.
  7. Closing date: 31st May 2008
  8. Judging. The editors with assistance of external judges will select overall winners based on technical quality, composition and how well they illuminate the Yellow Sea.9. Prize: 30 winners will be selected. The photos will be compiled in a book, and if possible in an exhibition gallery.
  9. Photos will be credited all the time with the photographer’s name.
  10. Winners will be announced on the 8th June World Ocean Day and contacted via email. The results will also be place on our website (www.yslme.org) and Yellow Sea Partnership website (http://partnership.iwlearn.org/)
