The MedPartnership Regional Project aims to facilitate the implementation of the priorities identified in the two Mediterranean Strategic Action Programs agreed by the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention: the SAP MED and SAP BIO, as well as the NAPs, which specify the priority actions to be undertaken at national level. Following the completion of the two Strategic Action Programs (SAP MED and SAP BIO), the Mediterranean countries formulated their National Action Plans (NAPs) using a participatory approach that included national and local authorities, the private sector and NGOs. These NAPs specify the priority actions to be undertaken at national level. Find here a complete list of the National Action Plans for each Mediterranean Country.
The countries of the Mediterranean have worked together to set priorities related to the major transboundary environmental problems based on the findings of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA-MED) and have jointly agreed on what interventions are needed to address such priorities through two Strategic Action Programs (SAPs).
