Inception meeting on Algerian National ICZM Strategy and Integrated Coastal Plan in Reghaia

The marine area that lies between Cap Matifou in the West and the town of Reghaia in the East, is considered to be protected by the Algerian Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment (MATE), as part of the ICZM Plan preparation for the Reghaia area. MATE will launch a study that will back the creation of this future MPA, in close collaboration with SPA/RAC and the "Conservatoire du littoral" (CdL). At the meeting Algerian stakeholders and institutions are expected to present the scoping note, adopt a vision, discuss objectives, issues and priorities for the National ICZM Strategy and Integrated Coastal Plan in Reghaia.

The meeting is taking place in Algiers, Algeria and is organized by MATE Algeria and PAP/RAC with the participation of MedPartnership and PAP NPF, national teams, strategy and plan stakeholders, PAP/RAC, UNESCO-IHP, SPA/RAC and the Conservatoire du littoral.
