Name: Greater Flamingo
Keywords: Flamingo, Namibia, Birds, Wetland,
Description: Greater flamingos breed in the large pans in Botswana and in Etosha in Namibia. They use the coast and wetlands as their main refuge during the non breeding season. Feeding marks are clearly visible at low tide in the form of a ring in the mud. Flamingos are filter feeders, using their tongues as pistons to extract food.
