Summary: This project has demonstrated the utility of real time bio-optical data as an integrated management tool for coastal agencies, and an early warning system with regard to HAB detection and ecosystem protection. The primary focus of the project has been the construction, deployment and maintenance of a demonstration bio-optical mooring, located on the southern Benguela Namaqua shelf.
