The Lake Chad Basin Micro Grant Programme

The Lake Chad Basin Micro Grant Programme (LCBMGP) is funded by UNDP under the LCBC GEF Project. The LCBMGP is designed to help LCBC Member States to deal with environmental concerns at the community level that has direct bearing on the Lake Chad transboundary water system.

The overall objective is to ensure that people living within the Lake Chad Basin are given the full opportunity to participate in problem identification, project definition and project implementation.
The LCBMGP operates within the pilot demonstration project in the sub-basins of :

• Komadougou-Yobe,
  
• Waza-Logone,
  
• Lake Chad and the Upper Chari Water Catchment.
  

The first announcement for the micro grant was done in August 2006 and the following were received from each country;
