Projects supported by the BCLME Programme
BCLME Projects

The BCLME Programme has allocated more than $10 million (R70 million) in support of 75 projects. The projects are being implemented by a wide variety of clients, including government institutes, universities, private consultancy companies and the regional scientific programme, BENEFIT. Each project has been designed to address transboundary environmental problems and contribute to the integrated and sustainable management of the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem.

How to find the project report you are looking for:

  1. If you want to access the FINAL REPORT, scroll down and search through the list below. The projects are grouped according to the prefix of the project number and are listed in this order:
  • Prefix BCLME or PCU stands for projects that are managed by the Programme Coordination Unit in Windhoek.
  • Prefix BEHP stands for projects that are managed by the Activity Centre for Biodiversity, Ecosystem Health and Pollution in Luanda, Angola.
  • Prefix EV stands for projects that are managed by the Activity Centre for Environmental Variability in Cape Town, South Africa.
  • Prefix LMR stands for projects that are managed by the Activity Centre for Living Marine Resources in Swakopmund, Namibia.
  1. If you want to access the TERMS OF REFERENCE for a specific project, or want to view an INCEPTION REPORT or PROGRESS REPORT, please visit the Activity Centre pages. Select the Activity Centre that managed the project and then scroll down until you find the project you are looking for. Terms of Reference are available for most projects and inception reports and progress reports are available for some projects.

Final reports

On this page you may download the final report for completed projects and/or a two-page summary of the final report in English and Portuguese.

Summary Port = Two-page summary of the final report in Portuguese
Summary Eng = Two-page summary of the final report in English
Final Eng = Final report in English
Final Port = Final report in Portuguese
NYC = Final report is not yet available
NFR = Project is complete but a final report was not required as a deliverable.

The process of compiling two page summaries of the final reports is on-going, so in some cases, summaries are not yet available.

Many of the final reports are quite large in file size. It would be best to download them rather than open them and read them from the server.
