REC celebrates 10 years in Bosnia and Herzegovina

This spring marked the tenth anniversary of the REC's establishment in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). To celebrate the occasion, the REC's Country Office BiH organised an event in the Parliament and Council of Ministers building in Sarajevo on April 24.

Attendees were addressed by Zeljko Komsic, member of the Presidency of BiH; Beriz Belkic, speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH; and Katalin Szili, speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary.

Afterwards, several individuals were awarded charters for their contributions to a sound environment, with Belkic, Komsic and Szili receiving honours, along with Katica Cerkez and Milorad Zivkovic. Nesad Seremet was also awarded with a charter for his successful work as director of REC Country Office BiH from 1997-2007.

Audience members, in addition to hearing a speech from Seremet and the aforementioned individuals, heard from Slobodan Puhalac from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations; Head of Environment Senad Oprasic; REC Executive Director Marta Szigeti Bonifert; REC Country Office BiH Director Jasna Draganic, and REC Country Office BiH Deputy Director Djordje Stefanovic.
