Apia Convention, 1976

The Apia Convention entered into force in 1990. At the Eighth Meeting of the Parties in 2006, its operation was suspended until further notice.

Noumea Convention, 1986

The Noumea (or SPREP) Convention along with its two Protocols entered into force in 1990. It is the Pacific region component of UNEP's Regional Seas Programme which has two important components: the Declaration and Strategic Directions 2008-2012.

Waigani Convention, 1995

The Waigani Convention entered into force in 2001. It is modeled on the Basel Convention (see "International").
