reports assessing critical issues in marine environmental
protection with an emphasis on the effects of land-based
activities. These reports (A Sea of Troubles, GESAMP
Reports and Studies No. 70; and
Land-based sources and
activities affecting the quality and uses of the marine,
coastal, and associated freshwater environment, GESAMP
Reports and Studies No. 71) were peer-reviewed by more than
70 specialists, including scientists, managers, and policy
makers, from all around the world, and were approved by GESAMP at its 30th session, in May 2000. |
