South China Sea Project - Economic Valuation Training Materials

The UNEP/GEF South China Sea Project’s Regional Training Workshop on the Economic Valuation of the Goods and Services of Coastal Habitats was successfully convened from 24th – 28th March 2008. This training workshop was organised by the Faculty of Economics of Thailand’s Kasetsart University, and was led by expert members of the Regional Task Force on Economic Valuation. In addition to lectures and class room exercises, participants were involved in a range of field visits to coastal habitat areas on Thailand’s Gulf of Thailand coast. During these field exercises participants collected information and data that was used to derive economic values for sites using a range of valuation techniques.
