The Prespa Park Coordination Committee is a tri-lateral body established to take over the function of a management body of the Prespa park region.
At the First International Working Meeting on the Establishment of the Prespa Park, which was held in Tirana, Albania, on 16-17 October 2000, under the aegis of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, the Prespa Park Co-ordination Committee (PPCC) was established. The PPCC is a 10-member body with an interim representation from the three sectors of each country (government, local society, and environmental NGOs) and one representative from the international Ramsar/MedWet system. The Co-ordination
Committee was initially established for a two-year period, after which, it was decided, its work to be evaluated and longer-term provisions to be established. In its Fifth Regular Meeting the PPCC decided to extend its interim operation indefinitely until the three Governments define a more permanent structure, form and operation of the Committee. According to the decisions of the First Regular Meeting of the PPCC, the members of the PPCC meet on a regular basis (twice per year), while they may also hold extraordinary meetings in order to deal with urgent and unexpected developments. The meetings rotate among the three countries and are chaired by the government representative, in the PPCC, of the state which is hosting the meeting.
