Assessing Environmental Law Drafting Needs in South Eastern Europe

The aim of this report was to assist countries in the region of South Eastern Europe with the legislative steps to be taken in environmental law in order to prepare for future accession to the European Union. The report covers Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The environmental drafting needs in these five countries are evaluated, taking EU approximation as an overarching policy goal of the respective countries and their common grounds for evaluation. The report is one of the outcomes of the Assistance in Environmental Law Drafting in South Eastern Europe, a project implemented by the REC under the Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South Eastern Europe (REReP).
