Building a Better Environment for the Future

The Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South Eastern Europe (REReP)

April 2000 | Print | Book

This report provides an outline of the challenges, goals and scope of the Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South Eastern Europe (REReP), which has been designed and endorsed by the ministers of environment of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Romania. The first section of this report gives an overview of the environmental situation in each SEE country, within the framework of the priority areas identified as a part of the REReP. These environmental profiles are followed by a presentation of the REReP itself, as drafted and agreed upon by a collective effort of the SEE environmental ministers in March of 2000.
