ELTIS: Safe and environment-friendly ways to school: The Traffic Snake Game

May 2007 | Print | Factsheet

ELTIS, the European Local Transport Information Service, is a web portal providing news and information on sustainable mobility. The Case Studies section of the website (www.eltis.org/case_study) contains hundreds of examples of urban and regional transport, allowing transport practitioners to learn from others and thereby accelerate the uptake of proven innovations. Five of the case studies were prepared by the REC for distribution in printed form in eight languages.

This factsheet describes the Belgian campaign Safe and Environment-Friendly Ways to School, which resulted in up to 29 percent more sustainable trips as parents were encouraged to leave their cars at home and enjoy walking, cycling or taking public transport to school.
