12 Examples of Practical Action - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

This booklet describes 12 practical examples of good practice in the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in six countries of the EECCA region — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Six are examples of the implementation of the convention at national level, and six concern implementation at local level. In each case, specific procedures and practical methods for facilitating access to environmental information and public participation in environmental decision making were developed and tested.

The examples can be used by public authorities responsible for implementing the convention in EECCA countries. The success stories illustrate the benefits and importance of the Aarhus Convention. The booklet also provides information to members of civil society on good initiatives already under way.
