The project Training for Staff Members of Protected Areas in Implementing Volunteers in Parks Programmes (ViP) in Central and Eastern Europe provided an opportunity to make improvements to the management of pilot parks and to increase international cooperation by focusing on the development of skills in implementing volunteer prograrmmes. The guidelines were developed to equip the staff of protected areas and key local activists with specific knowledge on the benefits and positive impacts of volunteer programmes.
