Tools rollout, training promote uptake

The promotion and uptake of CCRES tools has been in full swing as we delivered our second round of training workshops, and showcased the tools at events across the East Asia-Pacific.

In April, over 70 people attended tools training workshops in Tagaytay, Philippines. Representatives from government, NGOs, business, universities and other research institutes learned about the individual tools and how to use them in coastal planning and management.

We also attended two events run by the Global Environmental Facility-International Waters in Bangkok. These events provided an opportunity to share information about the CCRES tools with our regional networks.

In early June, we had a strong presence at the 4th Asia-Pacific Coral Reef Symposium in Cebu, Philippines with four presenters on the program and a trade stand to facilitate discussions about CCRES tools with delegates.

To support this activity we have had a fantastic team of trainers, facilitators and presenters from our partner organisations dedicating time to share their knowledge on the CCRES tools and how they can be applied to support coastal planning and management.

We are also relying on those who have been trained and our wider networks to let people know about the tools – so please help us spread the word.

We look forward to keeping up this momentum over coming months, and invite all our readers to take a closer look at the CCRES tools available for download.
