Biodiversity in the Pacific islands

Following on from the adoption of the Island Biodiversity Programme of Work within the Convention on Biological Diversity, SPREP and member countries are increasing their focus on implementation of biodiversity related actions. The basis of this work is the National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans that member countries have produced. These are the result of national consultative processes at all levels and are the basis for biodiversity related work at the country level. In the next few pages we outline some of the activities being undertaken in biodiversity conservation by SPREP.
